New highway to break the bottleneck between Shanghai and Zhejiang

Nov 12, 2018

Construction of a new Yexin Highway linking Fengjin Town in Jinshan District with Yaozhuang Town in Jiashan County in neighboring Zhejiang Province started on Sunday.

The 2.24-kilometer long highway will be four lanes for both ways in the near future and six lanes in the long term with a speed limit of 80 kilometers an hour.

Yexin Highway is the first of the nine such roads that will be built to connect Shanghai with neighboring Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces in the near future.

It's part of the national strategy of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
