Visitors throng Jinshan for Chinese New Year holiday

Scenic areas in suburban Jinshan District received a total of 244,600 visitors during the Chinese New Year holiday, which wrapped up yesterday.

Fengjing Old Town received 111,100 visitors with colorful folk activities. Opera performances and traditional wedding ceremonies held on water delighted visitors to the old town. In addition, they also joined in tasting yellow wine made of rice and a welcoming ceremony for God of Fortune on Saturday, the fifth day of the first lunar month.

Donglin Temple received 37,000 tourists as a bell ringing ceremony was held on the eve of Chinese New Year on February 4.

And Jinshanzui Fishing Village attracted 25,600 tourists with seafood, folk music and performances.

Lvxiang Fruit Park attracted 12,600 visitors as it prepared varied activities for families with kids, including paper cutting, cloth weaving, DIY bookmarks and handmade soap, etc.

A total of 10,900 tourists visited City Beach for an international sand sculpture exhibition, which was launched on December 28 and will run until April.

The Chinese New Year holiday for the Year of Pig was from February 4 to 10.
