Jinshan issues 27 garbage rectification notices

Jul 3, 2019

Jinshan's urban management and law enforcement authorities have issued 27 rectification notices since the domestic garbage management regulations came into effect on Monday.

In total, 114 places were checked by inspectors in the suburban district on Monday, and they provided guidance or dissuaded people involved in 54 cases.

Violators have been ordered to rectify their behavior or warned about administrative punishment. Companies can be fined up to 5,000 yuan (US$725.69) for failing to have the right trash bins in place and refusing to make improvements, and up to 50,000 yuan for failure to sort waste if they refuse to rectify their mistakes, the regulations state.

Individuals can be fined up to 200 yuan if they fail to sort their garbage properly. But they will be guided first, and only after that a fine will be issued.
