Chen Jinxiang, 75, poses with paintings made of rice at his home in Fengjing Old Town of Jinshan District. In addition to "normal" paintings of rice, Chen has used different rice varieties to set up a huge painting in his rice field, which is 2,668 square meters, or the size of a third of a standard soccer field. There are also rice artworks of Tian'anmen Square in Beijing and 15 Chinese characters, meaning "celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of People's Republic of China," in his rice field. "I'm so proud of the achievements made by our country in the past 70 years," Chen said.
