Jinshan designated as industrial base

Jinshan District was designated as the industrial base for Shanghai's high-technology new materials sector and ocean engineering on October 13.

The two bases are expected to output of 7 billion yuan (US$1.02billion) and 2.5 billion yuan respectively.

Shanghai Municipal Government has planned an area of 11.7 square kilometers for the high-technology new materials base, including Jinshan Industry Zone (4 square kilometers), Second Industry Zone (2.8 square kilometers), Zhangyan Industry Zone (4 kilometers) and Zhujing Industry Zone (0.9 kilometers).

The blueprint also showed that the base for ocean engineering equipment will cover 1.8 square kilometers in Luxiang Industry Zone, making heavy petrochemical equipment and sea drilling devices as well as research and manufacturing of oil and gas processing devices.

The two bases are ready with infrastructure, transportation, zone management and equipment accessories.
