Jinshan Tourism Festival to run from

September 6 to October 7

The annual Jinshan Tourism Festival will run from September 6 to October 7 this year with the theme of "enjoy golden weekends, enjoy leisure at new Jinshan."

Fengjing Old Town and Langxia Ecological Park, the two top tourist attractions in the district, will offer half-price tickets for visitors during the time.

Plentiful activities for Jinshan Tourism Festival

This year’s Jinshan Tourism Festival, themed “enjoying golden weekend and new Jinshan,”, will last through October 7. A series of activities have been designed to promote the district’s tourism.

50% off for tickets to tourist attractions
During the upcoming Jinshan Tourism Festival, tourist attractions in Jinshan, including Fengjing Old Town and Langxia Ecological Park, will offer half-price discount for visitors. Visitors can walk around Fengjing Old Town, have a sip on teas and take a rest in peddled boats to experience waterside slow life. In Langxia Ecological Park visitors can buy agricultural products at discounted price and receive free drinks.

Kiwi picking
Picking kiwi at Yixian Agricultural Park in Luxiang Town is another pleasure for visitors. Visitors can buy kiwis with 40 percent discount at only 18 yuan a kilo. And group tourists can enjoy food, beverage and hotel room discounts at Jinjiang Zhonghua Village during weekdays.

Float parade
For the first time a decorated platform featuring Jinshan scenery will join the float parade at the opening ceremony of Shanghai Tourism Festival in the Saturday evening. The parade on Huaihai Road in downtown Shanghai will present 22 floats this year. In addition, 32 performance troupes from 16 countries including the United States, Italy, Germany, Australia and Chile, will take part in the parade. The parade will come to Jinshan on the evening of September 21, Sunday, and the floats will park at the crossroad of Jinshan Avenue and Qianjing Avenue for residents to take pictures.

Fengjing Water Town Group Wedding
Foreigners will take part in a Chinese-style group wedding this year. All new couples will wear traditional Chinese dresses and 10 couples will celebrate their 50-year golden wedding.

Colorful dragon rice pad
The colorful rice pad designed by Lu Yongzhong is one of the most creative works in the Jinshan Tourism Festival. A matchmaking gala and a wedding ceremony will be held in the rice garden.

Yangtze Delta Weaving Talent Show & Fashion Show
At the Yangtze Delta Weaving Talent Show & Fashion Show, weaving talents will show their skills. Combining fashion with traditional cloth, a unique fashion show will be staged for visitors to have a new impression of the local cloth.

Seafood festival
Chefs from restaurants on Jinshanzui Fishing Street will join 2014 Jinshan Seafood Culture Festival on September 24. Visitors can enjoy the food, coffee, tea and slow life on the street.
